Newbery Medal Acceptance Speech

I learned the word capacious from a  William Maxwell short story titled “The Thistles in Sweden.”

The word appears at the very end of the story, in the last line, which goes like this: “…and I think that if it is true that we are all in the hand of God, what a capacious hand it must be.” Read more here
