Keith Richards is best known as a member of the legendary rock band, the Rolling Stones. Now he adds the title of children’s book author to his many achievements in the arts. Richards’ “Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar” (MT Books/Little, Brown & Co., $18) is based on the guitarist’s relationship with his grandfather, Theodore Augustus Dupree.
The connection to family doesn’t stop with the subject of the book. Richards enlisted his 29-year-old daughter Theodora Richards — her great grandfather’s namesake — to illustrate the book. Father and daughter sifted through family photos which were the inspiration for the drawings in “Gus & Me”.
