If a picture paints a thousand words, why are people afraid of wordless books? You can see the setting—whether it’s the mountains, a valley, or the beach. You can see what time of year it is or if that even matters. What else do you need to tell a story? Characters. Who is in the story? What can you tell from looking at their interactions? Does that lead to the problem? It wouldn’t be a story without a problem. What about the solution? How does it work itself out? Everything you need to know about a wordless book is right in front of you. Really.
