Costa Book Awards 2014 – Children’s Book Category Winner

I would be lying if I said that my son dying hadn't fed a seam into the book… It made me braver, about presenting things to children that were very difficult to present. I thought it's not that they need them to be less real, it's just that they need them to be presented kindly.
