Creativity Corner: Links to Celebrate Dot Day

by Terry Shay |

With International Dot Day just around the corner, I wanted to share some links with information about the day and activities to inspire your most creative celebration.

Discovery Education in the Home of Dot Day

Last year, Peter H. Reynolds visited the school where Dot Day began and Discovery Education was there to capture it all! You can see a video archive of the event here.

KidLitTV

Here are some videos of Peter H. Reynolds, author of “The Dot” featured on KidLitTV.

Official Page

The official Dot Day page and signup are available at thedotclub.org. Please consider signing up annually and if you are participating, please share the day with friends and colleagues and help creativity grow!.

Celebridots

The Celebridot site (http://www.celebridots.com) was inspired by Sharon Creech who sent me a dot on Dot Day 2011. I was so inspired by seeing what one of my favorite authors made , I asked others and now this gallery is available to inspire kids to be creative. If you know an author/illustrator/actor/sports personality who is not on the list, please invite them to participate. Directions for submitting are on the site.

Ideas/Pinterest

I have curated Dot Day celebrations through Pinterest. You can find that board here.

Follow the Twitter hashtag #DotDay for the latest ideas and be sure to tag your contributions!!

Do you think creativity can change the world?
