Creativity Corner Quick Crafts: Quilling Dots

Rhonda Jenkins K-5 Library Media Center Director, Teacher, Reading Specialist, Google Education Trainer in Naperville, IL, posted a beautiful piece of quilling artwork on Twitter. I thought it was so awesome that I asked her to create a tutorial for my Creativity Corner viewers. This would make a great Dot Day activity.

Supplies Needed

  • Quilling tools
  • Glue bottle with a fine tip
  • Elmer’s Glue (both regular and Extra Strong Formula)
  • Tweezers
  • Quilling paper or thin slips of paper

Thank you, Rhonda!

I did quilling with young kids using 1″ wide construction paper strips and paper clips. Some kids used their fingers instead of the paper clips. Some of the kids even learned to make roses! Just an idea for quilling with young kids.
