Ready Set Draw! Fuzzball from NO FUZZBALL!

Make sure to practice your curtsy before watching this episode of Ready Set Draw! Fuzzball is a queen — THE Queen if you ask her — and Isabella Kung, the author/illustrator of NO FUZZBALL, is here to teach you how to draw the puurrr-fect royal pawtrait — majestic whiskers, luxurious fur coat and all!

ABOUT THE BOOK

A hilarious new story from debut picture book artist Isabella Kung.
Fuzzball is Queen of the house. Her subjects just LOVE how she scales the tallest shelves and drags their belongings across the floor. Hear how they shout her name everywhere she goes … “NOFUZZBALL!” But when they leave her queendom for the weekend, she questions whether she should be a more benevolent ruler.

ABOUT Isabella Kung

Growing up in Hong Kong, Isabella Kung would spend hours prowling through the library; creating her own narrative for every one of her stuffed animals; and drawing over all her textbooks… Anything to make her dull concrete world more colorful.

It is no surprise she gravitated towards the world of Children’s Books. After graduating with a BFA from the Academy of Art University in Illustration, she continues to live in San Francisco with her two cats and her husband. She has since illustrated for Cricket Media, P&B Publishing Group, Committee for Children, 826 Valencia, and Ree Stickers.

Outside the world of publishing, Isabella is an adjunct instructor and has shown her original artwork at galleries in California, Spain, and Singapore.

Isabella has recently won the Silver Medal in the Illustration West 56th, accepted into Spectrum 25, featured on the cover of SCBWI Bulletin (Spring 2017 issue), and won Portfolio Best in Show at the SCBWI 2016 Golden Gate Conference. Her illustrations have received accolades from institutions such as the Society of Illustrators (NY & LA), Spectrum Fantasy Art, 3×3, Creative Quarterly, and SCBWI.

When she isn’t working in her studio, you can find her doodling in her sketchbook, taking Martial Art classes (only a beginner but loving it), or cuddling up with her furbabies and husband indulging in their favorite shows.

I didn’t do so good on the big oval body. I used a pencil and I drew the oval multiple times in one try.

I love that you made a book about a cat that’s the princess of the house. In my family I am the prince of the house because I am the youngest in the family! Also I used a drawing app it’s called procreate. You should try it.
