Reading stories that showcase other languages not only helps to share the joys of family experiences, but books in familiar languages can also help to ease the fears for kids and ease the nervousness of unfamiliar things that are yet to come. The MCBD Team was lucky enough to come across several of the many exceptional multilingual book recommendations for kids and we want to share this good with all of you. Check out the following bilingual titles and let us know which ones are your favorites.
Language Lizard Teams up with StoryWalk® to promote bilingual stories for kids.
Have you ever walked through a park and thought, “Wow! This reminds me of a book I read when I was a kid!” but you can’t be sure which one? With a StoryWalk®, you don’t have to rely on nostalgia because the book joins you on your stroll. You can even expose yourself to a new language with a Multilingual StoryWalk®.
The StoryWalk® program, created by Anne Ferguson in Vermont in 2007, involves taking pages from a children’s book and posting them around a park or nature area. Since 2007, over 303 libraries around the country have implemented StoryWalk® programs. Most recently, the City of Boston featured Language Lizard’s bilingual books in their Multilingual StoryWalk®.
As part of the new Multilingual StoryWalk® national project, Language Lizard is providing bilingual stories in six different languages. Check out the 6 multilingual books from Language Lizard that are now part of a new project that supports bilingual stories for kids HERE.

Linda from Hispanic Mama shares her Must-Have Bilingual Children's Booklist that includes books about Heritage, Traditions, Famous People, Holidays, and Places that are suited for Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers.
Kids' books in not-as-common languages like French, Greek, Arabic, Pashtu, Urdu (and many more) are getting easier to find thanks to companies/publishers like TimTimTom – Bilingual Personalised Books, Snowflake Stories, Language Lizard, Hoopoe Books, and many others. All of these fine publishers are perfect for adults on the hunt for vibrant multicultural books that are offered in multiple languages.
Keep Calm and Read on!
