Want to be a MCBD2022 Book Reviewer or Donator? Here’s the Scoop!

For those who are unfamiliar with the diversity in children’s literacy initiative known as Multicultural Children’s Book Day, the MCBD website has a plethora of who’s, where’s, and whys.

Within the website, you can see our Mission & History, what we consider a multicultural book, our timelines, and much more. MCBD is a year-round non-profit diversity in children’s literacy initiative but once a year we have a whopping huge online celebration that shines the spotlight on diverse books, authors, and publishers.

We achieve this mission in many ways and 365 days a year. But once a year (the last Friday of every January to be exact) we whoop it up BIG TIME all in the name of shining the spotlight on diverse books for young readers and the authors/publishers who bring those books to life. Two big pieces in the celebration puzzle are being a book reviewer or book donator for MCBD2022. Here’s how you can get involved:

Becoming a Book Donator for MCBD2022

Are you a publisher or an author of multicultural books for children? Would you like to donate a book for Multicultural Children’s Book Day? These books will ultimately end up in the hands of deserving teachers, librarians, parents, and young readers!

These donated books will be gifted to young readers, parents, and educators. There is no guarantee your donated book will be reviewed during the event, but we always acknowledge our book donators and support them as much as possibleWe also welcome any donations of physical copies of diverse books for young readers. These donated books will be used for prizes during our massive (and crazy-fun) Twitter Party on 1/28/22 or will be used to fulfill the requests from teachers and schools within our FREE Diverse Books for Classrooms initiative.
