About Chasten Buttigieg
Chasten Glezman Buttigieg was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan. A thespian, two-time 4-H blue-ribboner, and decorated member of the high school bowling team, he received his bachelor’s degree in theater and global studies from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and his master’s in education from DePaul University. He has worked as a busboy, dog walker, nursing assistant, waiter, cashier, bartender, and most recently a middle school drama and humanities teacher. He lives in South Bend, Indiana, with his husband, Peter, and their two rescue dogs.

About Illustrator Dan Taylor
Dan Taylor is an internationally published children’s illustrator and art teacher who lives in the United Kingdom with his partner, Sam. Though he can often be found illustrating picture books using his trusty iPad, he also enjoys getting messy with paint and crayons, and finds inspiration in the design and illustration work of the 1950s and ’60s.

Unconditional love! What a beautiful topic and one that kids need to hear is possible and even if they do not have it in their family, they can build their own loving family in the future and hopefully find that kind of love in a teacher, neighbor or family member now.

My husband travels a lot, and while we have fur-babies, we always get excited to welcome him home. Read Aloud books about diverse families are so important to help every child see themselves or their family through stories. I lost my dad when I was young and I hated when the class made Father’s Day gifts. Now I think teachers are much more sensitive!
